Vietnam plastic manufacturing industry has greatly developed in the years of 1997 to 2002 with the growth of up 27%-30% in average. Since 2002, Vietnam has augment to nearly 2,700 plastic manufacturing plants , 450,000 metric tons of plastic products of annual total output in average in the whole Vietnam since 2002, exported 185 million dollars in 2003 (except shoes), accounted for 7% of total export quantum of plastic products in the ASIAN countries.

According to the development goal in the plastic manufacturing industry between 2001-2010 in Vietnam, Plastic manufacturers strive for annual achievement growth 15%, total output up to 3,850,000 in 2010, from to 7 billion dollars growth of 1.6 billion dollars at present gross output value. AT present the total output is 1.6 billion dollar and will reach to 7 billion dollar in 2010.
