The Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association led a delegation of 35 companies to participate in the ˇ§ Vietnamwood 2006ˇ¨ fair held in Ho Chi Minh City from October 19 to 22. The 420 available booths in the fair were all taken, and 60% were taken by Taiwan delegation. The increasing size of the fair each year signals strong demand for woodworking machinery in Vietnam.
There were more than 192 exhibitors from eighteen countries: Taiwan, Germany, Italy, India, Spain, the U.S, Korea, and China, etc... Besides Taiwan, the associations from Germany and the U.S. also had national pavilions to enhance the promotion of their machinery.
Most Taiwanese exhibitors were looking for local agents and some got positive responses. If their products sell well, they will build manufacturing bases in Vietnam as the next step. |
