According to the Ministry of Trade, the yearly exports of woodwork exceeded 1.5 billion USD in 2005, a significant growth from 0.5 billion in 2003 and 1 billion in 2004. Woodwork is one of the 5 biggest export items of Vietnam. There are more than 1500 woodworking enterprises in Vietnam, 50 companies are joint ventures.
